Ceremony turns ONE

Our first year bringing ceremony to the world is in the books! As pretty much a stay-at-home mom when this journey began, caring for twin toddlers in a pandemic, it’s been a wild ride, to say the least!

But being able to bring forth my passion and purpose while helping others cultivate sacred, inspired space and come into power, presence, and reverence for their lives has been an enormously meaningful, fulfilling, fun, and expansive process.

To bring it back to the roots of where Ceremony emanated from, I was called to bring this vision to life when my ceremony experience began in 2019 after I miscarried. Searching in vain for something to assuage and honor the loss of our child, I intuitively created a ceremony for my husband and I to grieve and heal. The experience was transformative - both immediately and over time - and it was then that I realized how powerful ceremony can be.

From there my ceremonial journey took off and I began living more harmoniously with the seasons, attuning to their wisdom and honoring each threshold with ceremony.

On a short, barren winter hike, the idea of Ceremony landed so clearly for me. The vision continued to take shape and I began translating my own practices into guided meditations and ceremonies for close friends and family. I continued to get feedback from people close to me asking to share what I was creating and it became clear that this passion was more than a hobby. It’s a true calling that I feel deeply is being brought forth through me to share with others.

I officially formed Ceremony on May 3, 2021 and launched our first ceremony box for the summer season. From there, the Autumn Box, Winter Box, and Spring Box came to life quarter after quarter. Our seasonal self-care collection is now complete. Available all year long for one-off or subscription purchases, this collection is designed to support people through the cycles of the year.

As the year continued, we sold to customers in 5 countries and counting, participated in numerous pitch competitions, met and sold ceremony boxes to lovely people at farmer’s markets, fairs, and expos, and partnered with over 20 artisans and suppliers, mainly women and BIPOC-owned businesses that are creating heartfelt, high caliber, mind-body-spirit centered products,

As we look to our second year of business and beyond, there is much on the horizon. In addition to expanding into healing, celebration, and intention-setting ceremony boxes in 2022, we’re also finally able to hold ceremonies in person. While our ceremony boxes are designed to be self-contained, DIY ceremony kits, the ability to gather together in circle and hold sacred space with others in community will take this dream to the next level.

This year we will offer more live ceremonies as well as 2 new boxes:

  • The Joybird Box: for when you hit that milestone or achievement, have something to celebrate, want to congratulate a friend or loved one, or simply want to focus on the good in life.

  • The Infant Loss Box: because this is where my ceremony journey began and I want to make the power of this practice available to more families and communities, regardless of when or how their child loss took place.

There is much to celebrate, honor, heal and bring meaning to in this life and Ceremony plans to provide tools, space and sacred wisdom to support that journey.

As I continue to apply ceremony to many aspects of life - from the mundane to working through challenges to manifesting my heart’s desires - I want to share it with others. I’m passionate about developing inner wisdom and intuition, the art of ceremony, and making the simple sacred. In discovering the magic of this ancient practice, my deepest hope is to spread the art of ceremony to people around the world.
